چکیده

Superamphiphobic and flame-retardant finishing of cotton fabric can significantly improve its protective properties to expand applications, such as clothing. However, creating materials is still a challenging issue. Herein, we present facile strategy fabricate superamphiphobic (SFC) via step-by-step dip-coating spraying technology. Ammonium polyphosphate (APP) endows excellent flame retardancy. The robust coating formed by the polymerization product ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyl trichlorosilane (FOCS) not only protect APP from being damaged but also trap air form "air plastron", which makes SFC have antifouling, chemical repellence self-cleaning. resulting exhibited superamphiphobicity retardancy with water contact angle 161°, oil 158° LOI 30%. After UV irradiation, mechanical damage, 180 °C oven heating ultrasonic washing, it maintains hydrophobicity without loss This study expands potential applications provides feasible technologies for improving overall efficiency cotton.

Cotton as an Innovative Fabric for Firefighter Protective Clothing

Firefighting is a dangerous occupation that relies heavily on the effectiveness of protective clothing. This type of protective clothing must resist heat, flame, rough surfaces, and sharp objects as well as protect the wearer against biological/chemical surfaces. In order to address these issues, a survey was administered to firefighters to determine necessary changes that would make the presen...

An empirical analysis of thermal protective performance of fabrics used in protective clothing.

Fabric-based protective clothing is widely used for occupational safety of firefighters/industrial workers. The aim of this paper is to study thermal protective performance provided by fabric systems and to propose an effective model for predicting the thermal protective performance under various thermal exposures. Different fabric systems that are commonly used to manufacture thermal protectiv...

Selection of sorption material for tests of pesticide permeation through protective clothing fabrics.

The paper presents the results of studies on selecting a solid sorption material for absorbing liquid crop protection agents which permeate samples of protective clothing fabrics. The sorption materials were investigated and selected with an assumption that they should have a high recovery coefficient for biologically active substances, used as active ingredients in crop protection agents, at a...

Effect of Oxygen Plasma Pretreatment and Titanium Dioxide Overlay Coating on Flame Retardant Finished Cotton Fabrics

Flammability properties of plasma pretreated cotton fabrics subjected to flame-retardant treatment were studied. Plasma pretreatment, using an atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ), was applied to cotton fabrics to enhance material properties, while retaining inherent advantages of the substrates. An organic phosphorus compound (flame-retardant agent, FR) together with a melamine resin (crossl...

Thermoelectric Fabrics: Toward Power Generating Clothing

Herein, we demonstrate that a flexible, air-permeable, thermoelectric (TE) power generator can be prepared by applying a TE polymer (e.g. poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate)) coated commercial fabric and subsequently by linking the coated strips with a conductive connection (e.g. using fine metal wires). The poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate) coated ...
